Uzeyir Hajibeyov masterful opened social contradictions in the Azerbaijan society at the end of the 19-beginning of 20 centuries and created bright images of its typical representatives who are attaining the age, the ruined representatives of nobility fanatically believing by virtue of money of merchants - shopkeepers, their aspiration to "mutually favourable "union". They are resisted by the representatives of new generation overcoming family - household prejudices, struggling for spiritual freedom. Music in the comedy yas the important dramaturgic role.
